I think you need to go carefully through all the info found for you on this thread, and check it against your tree.


You have a baptism for Margaret in Tallanstown, Louth, Ireland.
As I said on page 1, that's not correct.
The mother of that child was a Catherine, which will be where you got the name from.

You've said that Margaret was born in Preston - no, her birth cert (see page 1) and various censuses all say Manchester.

Re Susan's death in 1895 - I'm just guessing that that record is the right one - it seems very likely, but you'd need to buy a copy of the cert to be absolutely sure.

Margaret and Albert married in 1891, not 1897.


I've picked out only a few points here. I'm afraid I don't have time to check everything - that's your job!.

I have done some research but cannot find much on them tree on this side nicely filling up I will have tears when I print this side of hopefully in a few days then to start with other grandparent xx

A possibility for Margaret and her family ??? (Taking her YOB as on 1901 and 1911 censuses. The fact that the marriage cert says she was 21 maybe just means she was at least 21 - ie - legally able to marry without parents' approval)

albert Holroyd army records threw me because of his age I have alberts marragie certificate to Margaret jane Clarke dated 1891 and it states both were 21yrs old making it 1870 when they were both born. lived at 21 Victoria street wigan.
alberts father called joseph Holroyd and margarets dad called james clark
