As you hadn't indicated whether you'd also mentioned there were other posts on the thread - PM sent earlier asking Ian to have a read and acknowledge by using the 'Add your reply' box on page 2.

Well, not all site users have the 'luxury' of computer access for 'hobbies' 24/7 ;-)

Hi Ann and DET, many thanks for all your help some of which matches the sparse details I already have.

DET - I'm not fishing I really do have something personal and special belonging to each of these soldiers I would like to place with the real family. I am not connected genetically to Pursey/Harnett as my father was adopted. When my 'grandmother' died I was left to sort out her belongings and found certain items belonging to families I have no knowledge of. They are militay items and as an ex-serviceman you will appreciate my desire to pass these on if at all possible.

Ann - sorry for being slow in responding but I usually only have my computer on for a short time in the evenings. :-(

Glad you found your way back Ian. :-D

If you can tell us who your 'Grandparents' were, we can disregard their direct line.

Ian

Ian Report 11 Feb 2016 18:56

My 'grandparents' were:

Frederick Wiliam Pursey
(father Benjamin William Pursey)
b. 06.02.1898

wife - Elizabeth Harnett (previously LEWIS - I believe her mother remarried)
(father James Patrick Harnett at time of marriage)
b 13.12.1900

married 27.06.1920

Lived Kilburn/Willesden areas

There is no direct line as they did not have any children of their own.

you need to look for Lightfoots for the Hutchings connection
