Sue in Sunny Worthing Report 23 Sep 2012 22:23

I have had some fabulous help from you guys tracing 2 of the Sarsons who were sent to Canada in 1928 as Home Boys but I was wondering if I could ask for some more help with some of the other Sarsons please?

In 1922, Edward W Sarson, his wife Georgina E & their sons Leslie W (born 1913) and Albert George (born 1916) together with Edward's sister, Elsie Sarson (born 1889), emigrated to Freemantle Australia.
I know when Edward & Georgina died & that Albert George married in Perth in 1944 ....... but what happened to Leslie W Sarson and his aunt Elsie?

Also, (I hope this isn't pushing my luck too far?), Leonard Ernest Sarson (born 1917), his wife Roberta (nee Harvie) and their baby son Roderick B Sarson emigrated to Wellington New Zealand in 1948. I would love to know if they had anymore children & what happened to Roderick?

I've been going round in circles all weekend trying to find out!

Thank you

I haven't found a return trip from Canada for her.... although she could have married out there and returned under her married name??

Sue in Sunny Worthing

Sue in Sunny Worthing Report 23 Sep 2012 22:56

Elsie's mother was certainly Mary Steele ......... so she had a sister, Charlotte who married Richard Brickwood in Ontario in 1913?

And Elsie went to Canada to the brickwoods in 1926

Have I got that right? What a well travelled lady!!

Sue in Sunny Worthing Report 23 Sep 2012 22:58

Somebody said that Ontario marriages are closed for 82 years so I guess we might not be ablr to find out if Elsie married.

Is there any website that we can look at for Candian deaths do you know?

BatMansDaughter

BatMansDaughter Report 23 Sep 2012 23:01

The son married in Canada in 1913, here's Mary's sisters marriage to Mr Brickwood;

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Marriages Dec 1883 (>99%)
>>>>>>>BRICKWOOD Richard Christopher Greenwich 1d 1406
NIXON Emma Greenwich 1d 1406
>>>>>>>STEEL Charlotte Emma Greenwich 1d 1406
TIBBS William John Greenwich 1d 1406

canadian marriages and deaths are closed for a certain amount of years and it does make it very difficult.

I can't see anything else about Elsie, so presumably she married in canada???

EDIT>>>>>>> Looks like Leslie W Sarson married, spouse was found and details deleted after OP has them written down.
