Sylvia

Re Jane / Jenny / Jennifer....

I have a Cousin Jennifer who is known as Jenny

But, in the early to mid 1700s ....

I have a Jane born 1691
Murried as Jane in 1722 by License
Daughter Jenny baptised in 1724
A child Jane buried in 1729
Daughter Jane baptised in 1733
Her husband dies in 1736 and I have the Will (No mention of a Jenny)
Then we have Jenny, a widow rarrying again in 1741 - again by License.
She dies in 1758
Her married name by her first husband was somewhat unusual so I can be sure that this all refers to the samw "Jane"

So Jenny and Jane were interchangeable in that time period (or at least they were for that family in Essex) :-)

For what it is worth, it was her grandson who married Fanny

Cheers,
Jeremy
