Irish Marriage Surname Confusion - Help Needed

Hello Maura,another thread user recommended you.
My family name is Irvine from Duncairn Belfast Co Antim.
My Father wa Samuel Gaway Irvine b 1918 - d 1990
My Father's Father was Samuel Irvine b 1874
His wife was Sarah Margaret McLarnon
GR's Father was Francis Irvine ,lived Cromwell Street North Belfast d c1915 husband of Rosanna
Some one suggested his Father was a Fisherman fom Dunbartonshire but I can find no evidence to establish this as fact.
If you can check this I'd appreciate it

GR's Father was Francis Irvine ,lived Cromwell Street North Belfast d c1915 husband of Rosanna
Some one suggested his Father was a Fisherman fom Dunbartonshire but I can find no evidence to establish this as fact.

David, Francis lived in Osborne street in both 1901 & 1911 census and clearly states on 1901 census he was born in Ballyclare, plus there a Frank Irvine living at No. 15 Oborne street 1918

Don;t know why I stated Cromwell Street,of course I meant Osborne Street.

It was the Scottish fisherman ancestry that supprised me.
