I am trying to find details of Edith Bean(1903-1980) , she married an Alex(alec) Nalton(1897-1980)
I have found plenty of information about Alex but nothing about Edith, she was my grandmas mother.

I belive she was from driffield.

any information would be greatly apprichiated.x

Sounds like you havent got the marriage cert?? The cert will tell you her age at marriage and her fathers name if known.
Have you looked for her on any census?

There is this but about as much use as a chocolate teapot. You need the marriage cert for her father's name.

Kirsty, you really need to get her marriage cert for her father's name and then the birth cert.

Shirley, can you find the eldest Bean son, George, in the 1911? I would think he is the likeliest to be Edith's father.

Hi all sorry havent got back to you sooner been busy with work.

It all seems very confusing.

I have found very little about her and due to my gran knowing nothing of Edith her mothers family i have had very litle to go on.

I ordered Edith (1903-1980) her birth certificate a few weeks ago so im hoping it arrives sometime soon and hope it helps solve the confusion about her and her family.

PS. Where would i get Edith and Alex marriage certifiacte from?

Kirsty, you get birth, marriage and death certs for England/Wales from the General Register Office (GRO) - isn't this the site you used to order Edith's birth cert?

They cost £9.25 and usually arrive within a week. 'A few weeks' seems a long time to wait for that birth cert, maybe you need to contact them (if this is the site you used).

I finally recieved Edith's birth certificate:

It states her mother as: Hilda Bean- Domestic servant of Driffield

Father as: J.N Couder - master - Union workhouse Driffiled

Her bith was registered on 29th July 1903

Adding more to the confusion surrounding my great grandmother..

Any help will be greatly aprichiated.
