Missing fathers name usually means that the person was illegitimate.

At that time 21 was full age. Parental consent would have been required if under 21 (provided the minor had not been previously married) but there was no requirement for the parent to act as witness.

Full age was 21.

Fathers' names would be shown no matter what the ages of the couple marrying.........so they mustn't have known them.

If she was a minor she would need a parent's permission to marry. Was her mother listed as a witness, perhaps?

hi all
have just recieved the marriage certificate of joseph bannister and mary wattis11 october 1841 acton beauchamp worcester
his age is shown as of full age but hers says minor
neither fathers name or profession is on the certificate
my questions are how old would she have been and could this be why the fathers arnt shown ?
