Flick Report 24 May 2011 21:56

Presumably you mean that you think her maiden name was Blaydes?

Who did she marry?

Have you tried looking for the marriage?

I'm guessing that by 'nanan' you mean grandmother...........and not some other relationship?

In which country was she born/married?

Karen,

Her maiden name will be listed in the birth index against your mother or father's birth.

What name did she die under? Not seeing a death for an Irene Limer with an 18th June birthdate.

Ozibird Report 24 May 2011 22:39

Considering this is the only Irene Blaydes birth and marriage that comes up, I find it difficult to believe it is not her. Croydon is the registration district, not necessarily where they married. However it would've been within that area. Was Ernest about to ship out for WW2? This might be the reason she is so far from home.

Marriages Mar 1939
Blaydes Irene Limer Croydon 2a 983
Limer Ernest Blaydes Croydon 2a 983

Registration is done by quarters so if Irene's birth was registered in early July she would be in the Sept quarter. Remember these are the ONLY two registrations for an Irene Blaydes from 1837 to approx 1950.

I'm giving a tip here, but family knowledge is known to be very unreliable.

Joy

Joy Report 24 May 2011 22:41

If she was born in June, then that registration would be correct in that her birth would have been registered during the September quarter of the year.

Flick

Flick Report 24 May 2011 22:41

Irene's parents would have had 6 weeks in which to register her birth.........which would have taken them into the next qtr.July, August, September.

The 1939 marriage is the ONLY one between those two surnames.

If in doubt, look yourself at the freebmd website.........

ALL the info posted you could have found yourself...................

For some reason the first 2 births are listed under the surname Miner.
