trying to trace my fathers realtions

Hi, does anyone know why i can find no records of my father, other than his birth/death/first marriage? I cant find no census or family records, or the marriage record for him and my mother. Ive found loads out on mums side, but hes a mystery lol

Have you considered the fact that your parents were not married.

If you post what details you have on here there are always plenty of people who will look for you.

The latest available census is 1911......was he born by then?

Wow so Ada and Reginald are my grandparents? I always remember mum talking about an Ada, but she called her Aunt Ada for some reason lol

my parents were married, unless they just made out to be, mum wore a wedding ring, and they were both Lamberts.

dad wasnt born until 1923

Gordon James Lambert born oct 3 1923
Maureen louise Lambert(nee Borton) born april 9 1944

:( im not sure now lol, i get stuck with dad, i was led to believe he was born in 1923, and my birth certificate says eltham london, so many conflicting info

Yes, his middle name was James, Gordon James Lambert

he died on april 13th 1987

Your birth cert is no indication of where your parents were born..........

Once you found your father's birth reg'n, you could have found the info about his parents on freebmd

The info on the death cert is only 'as known' to the informant....and could be wrong.

As you mother was much younger, he may have knocked a couple of years off his age

His age and father's name will be on the cert of his first marriage..............

Was your mother born in Coventry?

Have you found a death for your father's first wife?

If not, perhaps your father wasn't free to marry your mother?
