I have them in 1851 but can't find them in 1841. Originally from Wales but lived in Chester, Cheshire. I've searched 1841 for Wales and England and still can't find them. Their last child was born in 1837 in Chester, she's on the 1851 census so they should be somewhere in 1841.

William Jones head b 1800 Wrexham, Wales Boot & shoe maker.
Mary Jones wife b 1794 Welshpool, Wales
Rebecca Jones daughter b 1820 Chester, Cheshire.
John Jones son b 1823 Chester, Cheshire.
William Jones son b 1832 Everton, Liverpool.
Elizabeth Jones daughter b 1837 Chester.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Regards, Lou

Hi Linda,

thanks for taking the time to look. Yes that's them. I just don't know what happened to them. I have their son John and his family. But don't know what happened to the rest of them.

Thanks again,

Lou

I know I've had a lot of trouble with spellings in 1841 and people being missing, i think it's one of the hardest ones with the format of it.

I'm also having a look but am aware someone else will probably beat me as i'm not as fast yet as a lot of other people! lol

Is there a possibility of the children being at boarding school? I have found a William Jones the right sort of age at Winton House Academy?

Hi Joanne, & Linda,

I don't think they would be at boarding school. I have all their children's baptism records too. Actually William and Elizabeth were baptised together in 1837 and it confirms parent's names and occupation and their address which confirms they were living in Chester. Actually I've just taken another look at it and it states George Street Chester. Never realised that before, so that's a clue. Doh!.

I think that quite a bit of Wrexham is missing from the 1841 census - see https://wiki.familysearch.org/en/Wales_Missing_Census_Records_1841_to_1901. You may just be unlucky I'm afraid.

Hi PigletsPal & Cathnl,

Many thanks for your comments and help. The 1841 info is new to me so thank you so much for that.

Cathnl thanks to you too. I also didn't know that some of Wrexham was missing in 1841. Still I'm very pleased to have got back that far, so I'm lucky really.

thanks again to you all for your help.
