Oh, my reply eventually went through.

Henry, Free BMD is free:

and gives Births, Marriages and Deaths from 1837 up to various dates. After about 1910 (I forget!) it shows the mother's maiden name. It is a very useful search tool, do have a look at it and practice searching on it.

Henry, they are all children born as Castleton, with a mother's maiden name of Jarvis.

So much for the free access on NYE - those of us who pay good money can't even reply to a thread!

I don't recall getting any notification from GR that, as a paying member, I might have difficulty in using the site tonight.

No I've never heard of it. I only started using this yesturday so I'm still learning.

It's hard to tell,but given the area and mother's maiden name as Jarvis,I thought they were likely.

Same family as I posted earlier, Eliza is henry's mother and Thomas's occupations is an Ag Labourer

His marriage shows he was born in 1880, his occupation was a carman and his father was Thomas a labourer

Right I'll explain i messed that up a bit. I want to know weather he had any other children other than Constance and a bit of information about his father.

Henry Castleton was born in 1879. I got my information from this bord and the 1911 census.

you say Henry was born in 1869, the 1 I posted shows a year of birth of 1877..... a gap of 8 years.

How do you know he was a Hall Porter?

ahhh really sorry it was 1879. I worked out his age as if it was on the 1901 census but it was the 1911

But your data says there was one born in kent around that date with a father of Thomas. I have a census document with that information on it. I can send it to you if you want me to.

The census I posted shows Henry was son to Thomas and the younger Castleton's are Henry's siblings.

Henry, what is your link to Henry born 1869?

Getting your info from elsewhere may lead to incorrect info....... always start with what you factually know and work backwards, certificates, wether they are birth, marriage or death are vital to ensure we don't chase the wrong tree.

we see no Henry born 1869 in Kent with a father Thomas, so maybe the info from your source is incorrect?
