Hi Sheila,
Yes that's his brother in Wales, he was the only one in the family that lived in Wales, they did not originate from there.

I think you are on the right track, as the brother cornlius did have a son named Edward. So any info you have would be fantastic. Is it possible for you to find Edward's marriage etc?

I noticed you said you found Edward and Edith with son Archibald, then another son George, at a later date Edward with a Mary and Archibald and George. Was this an error and did you mean Edith otherwise she may have died and he remarried!

I will pm you.

Thanks for looking for John and Isabella, I suppose its just one of lifes mysteries or mistranscribed / couldn't be bothered to fill in forms or lost. But never mind thanks anyway.

Thanks again Sheila your help is very much appreciated.

Regards, Lou

Another reason may be that they were staying in another household on the night of the census so would be recorded in that head of households particulars and their relationship to him/her - eg I found an ancestor and allher children staying with her Mother and Father on the night of th e census and listed as 'daughter' and grandchildren respectively. I only found her because I knew the name of her brother who was lodging with them at another point in time and looked up his family census details. I also found a 'lost in the census' uncle who happened to be staying at a public house on the night of the census due to very bad weather - luckily it was owned by a relative of his - and I found him through tracing other family members. Good luck.

Is this the correct family in the Wales Census as I think I have found the family in 1910 census well Edward with Edith with a son called Archibold and then in 1920 with Archibold and George and then in 1930 with Edward and Mary as well as Archibald and George . Am I on the right track, cannot find John and Isabella on any census UK or America. Sheila

Hi Sheila,

Yes that's him with son and daughter. I also haven't been able to find Lydia on any census or even her death, so any help would be much appreciated.

Did you have any luck in finding his brother?

You cannot find your family in a census.
A/ They have been mistranscribed.
B/ Their entry has been lost/mislaid.
C/ They never filled out the form.
D/ They were out of the country.
Cannot find on Ancestry records but it is a very common name.

Am trying to find whether my ancestor emigrated and if so where, so would appreciate either a passenger look up or worldwide census please if that's at all possible.?

I have them in 1891 through to 1911 but can't find them anywhere in the Uk in 1881.

They are;
John E head Engineer / Engine Fitter b 1849 Tipton Staffordshire
Isabella Baker wife b 1849 Tipton
John E Baker son b 1872 Tipton
David Baker son b 1873 Tipton
Walter Baker son b 1876 West Bromwich

The next child was born in 1885 back in Staffordshire, England. John's brother emigrated in 1881 to USA, so it's just possible that John went their prior to 1881.

Much appreciate any help anyone can give me, it is much appreciated.

Thanks, Lou
