I found them under the name Garrord on 1901 on Ancestry

Loads of my Dads side who were from Buck, Herts & Norfolk came into london for work

Thats the Wallace that decided to become William in later life!!!!!

The majority of the family stayed in Lavenham but for some reason...probably more work...some left and set up in London/Middlesex

There is a tree on Ancestry for a Harry Garrard born 1890 Alderton, suffolk. If this is your Harry then it states his parents are William Garrard and Elizabeth Burch which ties in with Julie's posting above.

In desperation I have sent off for his birth cert. I found him born 3/4 Sudbury 1890 so at least I can find out who I've been chasing this last week !!!

Williams wife Louisa did not die until 1925 and as far as I know they were not divorced.

The only solid fact that I have with Harry Charles is that he died in Lyndhurst Hants on 18th Feb 1968 aged 77 and must(?) have been born in Suffolk about 1890 ish as his estate was distributed between my grandmother and her siblings.
