Thanks for your reply, have probably exhausted all the normal channels, census, deaths, emigration etc. Probably will remain a mystery, shame but i suppose that happens sometimes.

1911 census . putting Sidney born 1890 -+ 1 Chartham Kent comes up with Sidney Nash,Walter Sidney Hoston, Sydney Frederick Noble

I have Featherstone in my tree but not from that area. I have found the name frequently spelt without the E on the end

Thanks for your message, yes have checked all the death records for variations of Sidney to no avail. Its like he has just disappeared after 1901 census, although from info on 1911 census relating to his mother and 2 siblings it would appear he is still alive as the record identifies 5 living children from her 1st marriage. So at a lost now, but grateful to all the replys today.

Have you checked under Sid and Sydney as well as Sidney? (We have a Sid and he appears under all three variants of the name ...)

Thanks, yes have all the census details for 1890. 1901 and 1911. Just seems like a dead end as not on 1911 census but cant find a death between 1901 and 1911. So not sure why he is not appearing anywhere. But thanks Its great that people are so helpful.

Thanks for all your posts, I know its like he just disappeared. I did try a emigration website but nothing for Featherstone with initial S born 1890. Another option is that he changed his name etc for what ever reason. Dont imagine that will be able to find out anything now, too many years have gone by.

I can't find Sidney anywhere. The only thing I can suggest is to look at emigration records - some people have access to shipping lists on here. Would be worth amending your heading for this to catch their eye.

The family were from Chartham Hatch Kent. Sidney had the following siblings William George 1883, Charles Edward 1885,Frank James 1887 (my Grandfather) Frances Agnes B1893. Appreciate your help
