I've just done this using the copy and paste technique, and whilst I got a screen saying 'there's been a problem, you have not been charged', I've also recieved an email to my registered address which confirms my successful registration and I do seem to have full access to everything! We'll see what happens when I try and get back in tomorrow morning...

I've just tried the link and it seems they are still doing the half price offer, so maybe not too late for some.

My Essentials package was due to expire on 29th June 2009. Silly me thought I could still use it on that date but no I was not allowed to see any images. to my way of thinking then it expired on the 28th June.

They offered me a 20% reduction after I complained re the half price offer but on principal I declined. However I signed my OH up at the 50% discount. They were offering that to new members or members who had not renewed.

The Premium membership was posted for 46.70 this morning. I went into the site half an hour later and the premium had jumped to 53.70.
A difference of 7.00.

If it was the VAT wouldn't it come off the 46.70 that I signed up for?

I'm not complaining, I'm just curious.

If you are in Canada you would get it cheaper because you wouldnt pay VAT.I know I did .

I renewed earlier today for the price of 46.70 pounds (Premium membership).

I have just been back into Ancestry.co.uk and the price is now 53.70 pounds.

Someone trying to show me (another thickie !) how to copy and paste added the following after (as Julie says) ..right click on copy...this stores the info in the mouse...for some reason those words made all the difference !!

I am not sure if it is technically correct but it helped !

I just did it at 21.40 on 29th June, so it is still working. I had a little trouble getting the link to work so just keep trying.

Run your mouse over the address while holding down the left click of the mouse.....it will then turn Blue..Then right click & click on copy

Then in the drop down box.....Left click & click on Paste

my sub run out yesterday so I used the link and now my OH has his very own worldwide sub. Such a shame he's not interested in his family tree!

I have just renewed my subscription using the link given above and got a year's Premium Membership at half price. Great! My existing Essentials membership still had a week to run, and I had not received the email, but they have let me renew at the reduced price with my existing details with no problems.

Luck for me my subs were up on the 25th of this month lol...so have just renewed at the ½ price..price

I renewed with this offer on Thursday thanks to a posting on here. I even got it through my exisiting account, the subs ran out last month. I thought I might have to create a new account, but no.
So pleased to get it half price ;-)

I had a month to go, I called them when I got the email and they extened the renewal by a month, which considering I upgraded to worldwide for 12 months means I get the 13th month upgraded for free (as my old suscription was for the Essentials package).

I would say if you got an email call them, if not it might be worth writing off the last two months considering what you will save.

I have just under two months to go for the subscription on Ancestry and the package I usually use will be £107, does anyone know if I can forfeit my last two months in order to get this same package for half price. Dont want to pay if they would take the full money for some reason, but I would save quite a bit of money by doing this. Thanks
