Hi everyone. I am looking for some advice on finding Sonny Hammond. I can't seem to find him on any records, I was wondering if Sonny could possibly be a nickname or abbreviation for something, any ideas what? |

Could be a nickname for someone who was the only son in a family full of daughters? Have you got anything else to go on, like a possible mother's maiden name to go on that you could match his birth registration up with? (Assuming he was born after 1911.) |

I don't suppose you've got a christian name for his mum? I looked on the Lancashire BMD site for a Hammond/Blackwell marriage but the only one I could see was a male Blackwell marrying a female Hammond, which is the wrong way round. |

That would make sense - she must be temporarily "missing". I did a search for all Hammonds between 1926 and 1927 and it jumps straight from Dec qtr 1926 to Jun qtr 1927. |
