Where have you got your dad's birth year from? Could he have been born elsewhere in the country and then moved to Sunderland when he was young so thought he was born there?

My grandfather put on his army papers that his birthplace was Co. Durham (because that is where he grew up) but he was actually born in London.

These are possibly the births of the four youngest children of Ralph and Margaret Nicholson, I have not included Margaret junior as I have already posted her marriage to Mr Instone

Just off to see if these can be tied up with any marriages.

Evening Jim,

I posted the 1901 census showing the family of Nicholson's however, I think that by 1901 all the children were still at home, and all apart from the eldest Margaret were single, and no James Nicholson aged 4 / 5 is showing on this census - perhaps these are not the family you are looking for.

i think we are getting side tracked on my 1st post found a family of nicholson,s LIVING next door to my gggrandad and i asked how i could track these people forward,
i,m one of these people that feels realy guilty if i think i,ve awsted everyones time

the only fact i have is he died oct 1960 aged 64 in birmingham and he never married my mom, i have them living together from 1948 / 1960 on the elec rolls reg.

On my Nans parents sides a generation back were down the same road in the 1871 census, but not next door to each other though

researchers have spent hrs on trying to find my dad
james peter nicholson b 1896 abt he died in 1960 aged 64 and he is the complete brick wall.
so i was concentating on the lister side and came across this family of nicholson,s living next door to my gggrandad, bit of along shot i know so this has given me anorther route to track,when i think about it i only need to track the male don,t i??
