Eringobragh1916 Report 21 Feb 2009 17:00

Hello Cathie....
It may be the only answer to get the Marriage Cert..that at least would give the fathers names..providing it is the right couple as there were lots of Harringtons in that area of London..however if you are reasonably sure Ellen was nee Calnan then there is a good chance its them.....Do you have any details relating to the Baptisms of their children....What Church it was....the Church Registers can be a good source of info.

Eringobragh1916 Report 22 Feb 2009 18:23

Evening Cathie....Well this is the oddest thing...unless I have sent you the details of John and Ellen living in Swan Yard Newington before, then the "other" person I told you about (re Jeremiah) is of the same Harrington Family....
I couldnt find John and Ellen because I was looking in Middx not Surrey..!!!
You do realise that next door is Patrick Harrington and family (No.13) and down the street is Michael and Family (3 Swan Row) and another John and family (9 Swan Row).....

Cathie....Have you found H.Calnan and family living Orb St.Newington...?
There are also a number of Calnan families in the Surrey area..may be worth taking a look....
Will send you a Email....

Hi ErinGoBragh1916,
well,i didn't have all those Harringtons living in the same road, and district,i bet there related to mine. This could be a big breakthrough,as although John and Ellen are hard to track down re the Ireland births, the rest might be easier.
Looking forward to your mail very much.
I have an elderly cousin now living in Italy that started the tree on this branch of my family and she will be over the moon.
I suppose it's not hard to imagine that they all came over from Ireland for work,so could be brothers or cousins.
I'll have a read back and see what you sent on Jeremiah.
Also will e-mail my cousin to see if she has any thing on the Baps,i don't thinks so though.I think they were Catholic, but i'll check.
Many thanks again,it's great getting the other families.

Cathie

Hi,
just looked on family search and managed to have a look at the family's you mentioned, seems more than a coincidence to me that several of the children's names are the same. And birth place for the adults is Ireland.
