could still be their child if dad whent to registry office to register the birthwith mum, but in thoughs situations normaly their would be a double entry, one in the mothers name eg Anna Atkinson mmn Atkinson,and the one above

I need to back it up but i believe he married Emma Atkinson in jan feb mar 1915 in halifax, the moved to dewsbury

i cannot see a marriage in 1915 Halifax for them

the nearest Emma Atkinson marriage in Halifax i can find is this one and she didn't get married to a Foster

The way to find a WW1 death (or WW2 come to that) is to search at:

He is not showing on the Commonwealth War Dead web site but if he died in the war his death registration should be on find my past in the military section,

(the section i refer to is, Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914-1919 on find my past)

I cannot find a pension record for him, IF you cannot find a death on findmypast then it would meen going through the index quarter by quarter on ancestry as he was born 1893 this would take a long time, i would try and see if he married? and go from their
