Thanks, Sally, for letting us know. I'm another one who rarely goes to General.

Thanks, Sylvia, for copying it here.

Many thanks Sally for this thread...I rarely venture over to the gen board these days.

I cannot understand why a stickie was posted on the gen board alone.

Just a thought Bilbo....you say "probably less than 1% of members check the boards"....however "of that less than 1% members" how many actually use the tips, records and TTF boards. I think that you will find the percentage overrides the gen board. It would have been fair to let the users of each board know.

Under normal circumstances Bilbo is correct, threads should only be put on one board.

When something unusual happens, GR ignore the "rule" & allow multiple posting hence I can see no problem with this thread.

Thank you Sally, for bringing this to our attention. I avoid the General board, as it usually degenerates into unseemly bickering.

I dread to think what the changes will be.................they are seldom for the better, and never seem to incorporate any of the improvements for which the paying members ask.

I have no photo's either so hope the reason is this "big change" if not where are they?

I have even copied the actual GR stickie over here!!

Margaret Manson,

Not at all, It was nor me that initially mentioned the term "Lesser Mortal"

However if the cap fits, then I have no problem with that.

Thank you Sally

I never go on the General boards and wouldnt have known about GR changing it.

Whitenancy i think your comments are also unhelpful and designed to be decisive. One of the main reason i keep my genes account is for the community boards and the members that I also have the privilege to assist with both their genealogical research and, now and again their technical problems, for which I am glad to oblige those lesser mortals.

Fat Controller? Confusion and Delay? Thomas the Tank Engine?

Sorry but I thought you would recognize the connection.....!

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if GR post on this thread or that that thread as only a tiny percentage of members (probably less than 1%? ) actually bother to read the threads.

I have contacts with over 200 GR members, and as far as I know, only 2 have ever visited the community boards.

So whether GR publish on one two or even three boards, it is unlikely to have no significant effect whatsoever, apart from a small handful of members.

Thank you Sally

Bilbo, I think you are confused. Naturally, if you're asking for a look-up you shouldn't post on more than one board. It causes duplication. In this case Sally was just posting information to reach the maximum number of people.
I, for one, appreciate it.

Bilbo if it really is annoying you then please report it! It won't worry me if they delete it. I'm just trying to make sure that everyone has a chance to know what is going on.
