Just goes to prove that none of us must ever give up hope.As long as there's breath in my body I'll want to meet my birth mum so I know how strongly he felt.

Hi,

I remember being glued to the Smiley Sammy's BIL thread too. Very pleased his mum has finally spoken to him and hope that this will be a huge breakthrough in all their lives.

Thank you all so much, I checked back here thinking "I bet nobody has a clue what I'm on about".. lol!
It's actually 3yrs since I found her address and contact was initiated on my BIL's part, I can hardly believe it myself.
Many others would have given up by now I really admire his persistance too.

I did have to smile to myself when I asked my 11yr old neice if her nanny had offered them a cup of tea, her reply was " she only has Strongbow....and a dog"
............out of the mouths of babes eh?

Wow

Sammy. Is it really two years? How time flies.

I am glad your b.i.l. is maintaining a relationship with his daughter and that he has finally made contact with his b.m.

His persistance has finally paid off. Hopefully, this is the jolt she needs to pull her life back together. There is nothing like a grandchild to put everything back into perspective.

Much love and good luck to all.

I never had contact with my brother for a number of years but two week before he died I invited him to stay at my home on a trip to London with his son..Needless to say he had a massive stroke on Euston Station and I got to spend some time with him even though he only recognised on the first day He was pronouncesed brain dead a couple of days later..No matter how short a time we have with people it can have a profound affect on our lives, and thiers..I did not like my brother I was frightened of him but I was given the chance to love and I will allways be greatful for that..Kind Regards Sarah

Remember the thread vividly and how we all waited for your news about bro in law.
So glad his mum has finally met him. She has resisted for a long time but now hopefully they can all have a relationship.
To all others still searching for fathers, mothers etc he is an inspiration as he never gave up. So glad too he has a relationhip with his daughter.
