Had a quick look at the IGI but could not find a christening for the children. Thank you all very very much for all the help. My dogs know its walk time so will have to catch up with all of you lovely helpful people later

Esther Mudge is 'visiting' James Cole and Harriet in 1871.

Esther has a daughter Harriet, born 1842 Cheriton.....

Checked the freebmd image and I don't know how the transcriber even guessed at 2 or 3 - all there is is a dot!

Eric,

Did you check the full index on Ancestry? Their images have been digitally enhanced which is why they are sometimes clearer than freebmd's but there is always the risk that the enhancement is wrong.
