i have been going around in circles for months. i have ordered 4 birth records now for annie douch and none have the right fathers name.
on henry light and annie douch marriage record in 1916 horsham sussex it lists annies age as 36 and henry as 40. also lists annies dad john douch as deacesed and as being a brick layer. i cant find any records etc for john
the marriage record has the witnesses names of elizabeth ripley and thomas ripley. i thought i might find some census records for these but again no luck.
a family member thinks that john douch may have come from ireland if this is true how do i go about locating records for him. and if annie was also born in ireland how would i find out.
i found a 1901 census record for annie and henry light in horsham but it says ann is married to henry and they were not as far as i know untill 1916. henry light was born in horsham and i do beleive they lived in crawley rd,
any help or idears would be good my tree is going no where and i am fed up with ordering birth records that are not right!!

this looks like it could be Henrys birth reg. going by the age info on the marriage cert and your lead about Horsham.....maybe the Henry you found in 1901 is his father?

Can you give me the details of Annie's birth certs you have ~ i know they are wrong but can then rule them out and search for some more.

but then left with lots of partners to work out
cant locate any other records for annie douch

Just to throw a spanner in the works ...a birth in Horsham maiden name Douch......... maybe Henry and Annie were having children for a while before they married.?

i have just read through your old threads didn't your aunt not have the birth cert for her??

i am unsure if the 1901 census for ann and henry in horsham is the right one for them as they did not marry until 1916 and in the census it says ann and henry are married. also the census records for henry from this mean his parents are thomas light and mary class .
the only henry light birth record for june 1875 horsham (know he was born in horsham ) i ordered and it came back with his dads name as john light ?
again could not find any other records for john light with son henry

as far as i am aware annie did not have a middle name and my aunt and nans sister both said they had records of her birth etc but they wont for some reason give them to me they say they are sending them but they dont seem to get here!
hence i am starting from scratch again
