Place of birth was added to English death certificates in 1969. |

Peter, I am going to correct that statement, I have literaly just recived a death cert from 1971, it does give place of birth and date of birth (but incorrect date on this one) |

As far as I am aware, English death certs have never given place of birth, certainly I have never seen one. |

Would a 1912 death cert tell me where my ancestor Margaret Roberts was born. The only info have is Wales. |
