Coroners report

I have just recieved the the death cert for one of my rellies.
He died due to at an accident at work. How do I get a copy of the coroners report.
Date 1904 Liverpool.

Get in touch with the Liverpool Records Office who will hopefully be able to give you advice.

Thanks Sue, I am visiting my sister shortly who lives in Liverpool will get her to show me where the Records office is

Very few coroners reports survive, but as they were of interest, they were always reported in the local paper.
As you have the date of the inquest it will be easy to find.
The old newspapers are not normally held by the local records office, but by the main library. Google to find the main library, the nearest one which has a family history section. A list of their holdings will tell you if they have the papers. If you can't go yourself, they usually don't charge much to send you a copy of the report

Thanks Linda, Just found out that Liverpool has a web site, have to find out how to use it now. I will take some time away from my sister to visit the records office which I believe is in the main reference library.

Lesley, sorry I've been off-line while I went out for dinner. I know how he died(he fell off some scaffolding) what I am after is his address at date of death. I am hoping this is on the report.,as it is not on the death cert. I have what I presume is him in the 1901 census and want to confirm it by the address.

James, if the coroner's report has survived - and I hope it has - it should indeed have the address of the deceased.
I have been fortunate to have obtained copies of reports from the Ipswich records office for two of my ancestors. They make fascinating reading, especially, I found, to see the actual signatures of the jurors, some of whom were relatives of mine.
