Looking for a "Jack Wicks" who married a "Marjorie Phyllis Edna May" around 1945.

These are my mothers parents..
I know Marjorie was born in Reading in 1923, ( 59 Norton Road, Reading ).
Yet im unable to find the birth of Jack Wicks...Those I have found don't match. I assume he was born sometime around the early 1920s
I can't find the 1945 marriage between the 2 of them. They had 4 kids.

She did get remarried to a Fredrick Fleet( born in Devon in 20's ?) in the mid late 1950's and had 2 kids...but again ..no marriage details.

Any ideas or info would be great.

Thanks for reply.

I dont think it is him....there is a another birth of the same peron 10 years earlier...with the mothers name being given a Tyrrell...
Very odd...the 1st Jack L Wicks died same year as born..1911...yet the second 1 born 1921...i dont know.. same name....similar mother name but Hyrrell not Tyrrell...

Strange..but i dont feel its him.....if it is him...why the different names.etc?

Yet there no..marriage between Jack Wicks and Marjorie May..at least that I can find..

Should be around 1945...but cant find it...!
Cant find a hopeful birth of Jack..or the marriage!..

Same for Majories second husband.
Fredrick James Leeson Fleet,
Ive been told he was born in devon...yet there isnt a Fredrick Fleet of that name born in Devon....there is one in Somerset....but the name doesnt match!

Have looked at the Fuller name..and again..cant find the marriage! A marrige between and Fuller and a Wicks..cant find..have been looking..but cant find it.

Parents Jack Wicks and Marjorie Phyllis Edna May.

They had 4 kids.

2 boys and 2 girls.

Majorie had 2 more kids via a second marriage..1 boy 1 girl.

Ok..they had 2 children..1 boy ..1 girl...

Don't know the boys (Andrew) dob...but I believe the girls (Madeleine) is 1964.....

I am thinking...they maybe twins..so the same date may apply to Andrew also...
I dont believe Jack died....but I can't say for sure.

Jacks last child with Marjorie was born mid - late 50's as child before that was born 1954....I think.
So time span looks to be from 1956 to 64.

Any help?

Full name..I think.....Fredrick James Leeson Fleet.

There was a story that Majorie had a "fling" with a US GI during the war..when she was very young.

I believe an adoption took place and the child was taken back to the US with the GI...

All I know of that is the name "Colin"...but I don't know if the name is on the child ..or the GI.

It would be most interesting to find out if this story is true...but with so little to go on, I expect it would be impossible to find out the truth.

Well....I pretty sure they did marry...though I don't know for sure...but the children have taken the Fleet surname...so I assume they did marry.

Yes..this is a tricky one...lol...The story of the war time GI is most interesting....but I know so little about it.
