Having trouble finding birth record for my great grandad william james dodson thought to be born around 1890, but i can't find him in that year so i think it might be earlier, and unfortunately i have no idea where he was borIf you could find his birth and census record in 1901 that would be great.

Hi there, could anyone please help me?

I am trying to find out who my grandmothers father was.
My grandmother Phillis Self nee Symons/Symmonds/Symonds

Her mother was Ada Matilda Symons

I have a few name changes throughout some of her documentation hence the symonds/symons/symmonds but i have no record of her father!

Phillis was born in exeter in 1923 and died in suffolk in 2006
her mother Ada was born in dawlish (we think) around 1906 and died in 1976

Ada re married a James Dart (known as Harry Dart) and had 2 more children robert and murial

please help me find out who my great grandfather was, this would be the greatest mystery solve in our family!

thomas william payne born 1902 i think ,i cant find any info on him or his wife i have no idea what her name is i know they lived in little bromly in essex and that they had 10 children one of whom is my mother evelyn evelyn was born in 1931 and she had 4 children . if you could help i would be eternaly grateful thanks trevor

I cannot find John Pratt born 1867 in Wix Essex after the 1881 census.

He was living with his sister Elizabeth Redman nee Pratt in Deptford London. The husband was George Redman and they had a baby daughter also Elizabeth.

I would llike to find him since my husband's line is descended from Daniel Pratt who was John's elder brother and since the boys keep thier surnames I am concentrating on John but to no avail.

can't see a birth record for Phillis, but i can guarantee if she has the same surname as her mother, highly unlikely that they will be a father named on her birth certificate........

if you know her exact date of birth though, you would be able to order it from the local register office.

as Thomas wont be in 1901 census, i can't really do a lot i'm afraid.

so you could send for your mothers birth certificate, which would name his wife......
