Hi Sue, Boissevain is coming up on the census as being in Manitoba County, so i presume MB stands for that. Unfortunately couldn't find an entry for Lilian on the 1911 census, sorry. Pippa :0)

Hi Pippa, Thanks for the offer. Would it be possible to look up Maud Kennedy (nee Hannant) born Jul 1882 in Portchester Hampshire? I have her on the 1901 census as Maud Hannant working in Portsmouth as a servant. Family lore has it that 'she married a Kennedy and went to live in Canada' but I don't know any more. If you could fine her on the 1911 census that would be great. Cheers Lucinda

Hi Pippa, Could you please have a search on the 1911 census for me, but only if it is name indexed as it's a commen name, I think I am in the right area! My Grandad was William Joseph Turner b Birmingham 26.2.1894, army papers say 1893, but I have a copy of his birth cert which he got in the UK in 1908, so I know he was still here then. I have had a trawl through the online index for Saskatoon area but could find neither him or his father who is also William Turner b c 1866 Birmingham. Grandad joined up in Biggar in 1916, so he emigrated at some time after Jan 1908 to join his father who had previously left the family home for Canada, or so I was told many years ago. I do know Grandad's father never returned to the UK, and they had land next to each other after WW1 as my Dad was born there, I have all that info. Many thanks for looking Best wishes Amanda

Hi Pippa, Thanks for offering to help. Here's a tricky one for you. I have Agnes Royston b1884 Leeds, Yorkshire According to family legend she 'went to Canada to be a nun'. Don't know when or where or what her religious name or order was. I have a photo of her though. Thanks Sarah Australia

Hi Pippa I am desperate!!! I dread to think of the hours I have spent searching the 1911 on the Canadian Library site, and found nothing, yet I know they are there somewhere would appreciate if you could take a look for me. The 2 families I am after are: Family #1 Peter and Anna GRUND (both born in Temesvar in Romania/Hungary) They arrived in Regina Saskatchewan in 1904. Peter was born 1868 and Anna c1875. Their children's names were Max, Anna, Peter, Eva and George. Family #2 George and Anna Lemnack (aka Lamneck and Laennek) George was b. 1871 in Austria, Anna b.c 1878 Austria. They lived in Winnipeg for a few years (up until about 1912) before moving to Regina Saskatchewan. They had 2 children Rudolph (aka Rudie) and Josephine. Both born in Austria c 1897. Thank you Danielle

Hi Pippa, I winder if you can help me. I am searching for the birth of my mother`s cousin, who I think may have been born in Ontario, I am not sure about his surname I never saw it written, only heard it in 1948 when he came on a visit, but it sounded like Herd -Charles Herd or could be spelled Heard, I do not know who his mother was, but am hoping that if I can find his birth I can then find his mother. If he was born before or in 1907 (he may have been, he looked to my eyes in 1948 to be of age with my mother) He would also then be on the 1911 census, if its not asking too much, could you look for me, thank you. Maud

Hi Danielle, Looked for both of the families you asked for but unfortunately i couldn't find them. With the Lemnack's, there are alot of pages in Winnipeg that are so faint you can't make out the names, only their ages and birthplace of Austria, so ti could well be that unluckily your Lemnacks are there! Sorry i couldn't help Pippa :0)
