www.scotsman*com Digital images of the newspaper from the 1850's. www.scan.org.uk Various bits and pieces www.scran.ac.uk Digitalisation of various documents and photo's. If anyone wants a closer look or a copy (from Scran) let me know as i have a free subscription to this via Uni. www.old-maps*com See where your ancestors lived. www.sctbdm*com/search.php A site where people have added the names that appear on certs they have. May save you a few credits on Scotlandspeople or find a connection. www.scotlandsfamily*com Very useful site, i really like the deaths bit. http://www.censusfinder*com/scotland.htm Lots of bits from censuses, every little bit helps. Hope one of these is of some use to someone. Mhairi

I've found the help that I've received on www.talkingscots*com absolutely brilliant. There's also:- www.ayrshire-roots*co*uk which has poor relief records, intimations from the Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald to name a couple of bits. www.phlomis.plus*com which has a huge list of Aberdeenshire names which have been submitted. Sheena Charles created a fantastic site with MIs for Boyndie, Deskford & Rathven:- http://myweb.tiscali*co*uk/sheena_charles/miarchive*htm Freereg is good for some East Lothian records. www.threetowners*com is great for Ardrossan, Saltcoats & Stevenston information. I also find a good old google with ' ' round the persons name plus a place associated to them, place of birth, marriage or general area almost always comes up with a good result. Happy hunting.
