Hi Kerri Thanks so much for that information - it looks like this is my great grandfather. I was unable to work out the name of his birthplace, but I can see now that it says Woodchester. My GrandFather was Norman Andrew Williams born 22/04/1901 in Boulder Western Australia. Once again thanks for that information, now I will have to find out how/when his parents arrived in South Australia. Lyn

Hello Kerri Could you try and find any info on a William Peat born 1825 in Maulden Bedfordshire, parents are Francis and Lucy. He received 7 years transportation in 1845 and I think I have found him on a convict ship named Marion which left London 14/06/1845 arriving Tasmania 16/09/1845, the dates fit anyway. I also think I have found him when he was freed leaving Launston for Melbourne on the Shamrock in Dec 1851. Also on the same boat was another William Peat which states he was born in the colonies and I wondered if this could be his son. As no ages are given for these people it is difficult to be sure it is my rellie but hope you can turn something up on him as to his death maybe. Many thanks Kerri Wendy

Hi Kerri Could you have a look for the surname DUNS in S.A. for BDMs and the passenger list? Thomas Duns and his wife Helen Catherine Jerdan were in Scotland for the 1901 census. In 1914 (WW1) they were living in Goodwood, South Australia. They had two sons who were I think George Duns & James Watson Jerdan Duns. James died in WW2 Regards April

Hi Kerri Thanks for your very kind offer. I am trying to find out if an Elizabeth Seaton who married Charles Tanner in Victoria in 1854 is my Great Grandmother's sister. She was born in Gawcott, Bucks in 1831 and I cannot find her on the 1851 census. Her mother died in 1847 so possibly she travelled to Oz after that. A lady from Oz contacted me to say that she was related to an Eliz Tanner nee Seaton who married Ch Tanner in 1854 and when I wrote back to ask how she knew this was the same Eliz she did not reply nor to several messages from me since then so now I am really curious to know if this is the same Elizabeth! Regards Ann
