Adelle, if you have already asked for help, please could you bring the threads back up on the boards so that people can see who you have asked about and what replies you got?

To find your threads, click on My Threads on the drop-down menu underneath Community at the top of the page, and then click on your thread title. Type something like "help still needed" in the reply box, then click on Submit and that will put your thread back up to the top of the board.

Hi Adelle,

You only had 5 posts listed to you so you can't have done too much damage by posting in the wrong place - I don't know where your other thread is so let's just start again here and if anyone tells you off then ignore them !

You are in the right place now ! :-D ;-)

I will take a look at the names you have posted.

Dea

Dea Report 6 Aug 2014 13:18

Having difficulty getting a starting point here - can you clarify the details please?

You have a John Entwistle born in Hull in 1882 - is that correct?

Were Robert George and George Robert both sons of his?

Robert George Entwistle married an Isabella in Hull or Leeds ? - do you know when (ish) ?

George Robert Entwistle married an Ellen in Leeds (again - when(ish)??

Who was James ? - When did his wife Lily die aged 33 ??

Do you have any of these people on any census that we can take a look at just so that we can make a start?

Take a deep breath and look to see what facts you actually have and post them for us.

Adelle - digressing slightly.

As most of the Entwistles were B,M or D in Yorkshire, you may find this site useful for events from 1837 when civil registration began

http://www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk/index.php

Although Rose has given you the probably GRO reference for George and Mary Ellens's marriage in 1883, the above site gives a few more details without having to buy the certificate

Yorkshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1883
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At
ENTWISTLE George PECK Mary E All Saints, Sculcoates Hull

Rearranging to make it easier to read (it is clear on the YorksBMD site)

Surname ENTWISTLE Forename(s) George
Surname PECK Forename(s) Mary E
Church / Register Office All Saints, Sculcoates
Registers At Hull

Local reg office have their reference numbers which are different from the GRO index The one for the above marriage is HAS/23/166

So Adelle - we have an awful lot of info here.

You say that you are doing this for your nana - Could you tell us who your nana was and all the details you have on her and then perhaps it would be best if we just work back from there and connect all the above info as we go ?

We can then add in all the other details on other family members.

Otherwise, by looking at everyone at the same time it just gets very confused.

It may help to know that James' sister Florence (Florrie in the 1911) had no middle name

Births Sep 1899 (>99%)
Entwistle Florence Sculcoates 9d 183

That will possibly eliminate some of the marriages that could be hers.
