Hi Ian,
I think this is the 1912 marriage in QLD Australia that you mentioned
1912/C679 Lloyd Frederick George to Hewitt Alice
and this appears to be his death
1942/C1242 Frederick George Lloyd (Father)Frederick (mother)Elizabeth Simmons

Cherilyn

Cherilyn Report 3 Apr 2012 09:12

Guess it depends which person Ian has for sure in his tree. If it is Eric & Frederick, or if it is George Albert.

This is Eric's WWII enlistment fwiw

LLOYD ERIC GEORGE : Service Number - QX22247 : Date of birth - 29 Mar 1919 : Place of birth - CLONCURRY QLD : Place of enlistment - TOWNSVILLE QLD : Next of Kin - LLOYD ROSA

Cherilyn

Cherilyn Report 3 Apr 2012 09:20

Alice's death in Qld:

1957/B22296 Alice Lloyd [father] Samuel Hewitt [mother] Margaret Johnston

Alice & Frederick had a daughter named Constance who was born and died in 1912. Also daughters Freda Margaret b. 1913 and Lorna Jean b. 1914.

Hi Cherilyn and Kellie
Thank you for your fantastic help the details you have found are brilliant
that is the family I am trying to find details for
Re marriage and death note Kellie posted
1912/C679 Lloyd Frederick George to Hewitt Alice
and this appears to be his death
1942/C1242 Frederick George Lloyd (Father)Frederick (mother)Elizabeth Simmons.
Is it possible to get copies of this data on the net?
Will an Australian marriage cert give ages of bride and groom?
Will an Australian death cert give details of place and year of birth?

Does anyone see any of these family members arriving in Australia from the UK

I do believe you get more info on Australian certificates than you do on ours, but you'll need one of our Oz experts to tell you how to obtain one. Meanwhile, this record does give the date:

Australia Marriage Index, 1788-1950
Name: Alice Hewitt
Spouse Name: Frederick George Lloyd
Marriage Date: 11 Jan 1912
Marriage Place: Queensland
Registration Place: Queensland
Registration Year: 1912

Hi MarieCeleste please don't say sorry you and you friends have been a brilliant help with my research.
Would you consider it likely that his parents Frederick and Elizabeth were in Australia?
I can not find any record of this family traveling over

jax Report 3 Apr 2012 23:31

As I said last There is a tree on ancestry mentioning the parents and also says he was born in Hastings....well I could'nt see a marriage for the parents, his birth or them on the census.

But I should have found that marriage and death...maybe I was tired :-)

TonyOz

TonyOz Report 3 Apr 2012 23:32

Hi Ian. Regarding your relo's arriving in Australia will depend on what part/state/territory they arrived to. Victoria,NSW, Queensland, ect.....each state holding their own immigration records. A death cert "should" supply imformation on how long the deceased has been in a particular state.
Imformation supplied on Australian certs are "normally" quite good....but this can vary, pending on who supplies the info on the cert. ( Informant )

Online searching for shipping/passenger records only supply searching up to 1900 plus/minus 6 years ( Pending on state archives )

The N.A.A ( National Archives of Australia ) may hold his immigration records.

http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/using/search/
"Search as a guest"

Tony ( Victoria )
ps. A death certh should supply age at death....again pending on what information was supplied by informant.

Australia Birth Index, 1788-1922

Ian

Ian Report 4 Apr 2012 00:40

Thank you TonyOz I agree you you it is not our Alice
I believe this is Alice in the UK 1911 census

Name: Alice Hewitt
Age in 1911: 26
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1885
Relation to Head: Servant
Gender: Female
Birth Place: Bickerton, Cheshire, England
Civil parish: Bulkeley and Ridley
County/Island: Cheshire
Country: England
Street Address: Bulkeley Lange Malpas Cheshire
Marital Status: Single
Occupation: General Servant (domestic)
Registration district: Nantwich
Registration District Number: 449
Sub-registration district: Bunbury
ED, institution, or vessel: 03
Piece: 21819
Household Members: Name Age
Herbert Bruce Brassey 38
Mary Constance Brassey 34
Kate Harding 36
Alice Hewitt 26
Millian Vickers 19

the above Alice's parents are as earlier data Samuel and Margaret Johnson.

So in 1911 she is in the UK and then in 11/1/1912 she married in Queensland she must have traveled to Australia during 1911
