hi Im June Micheals Mother facts i know to help with tracing Florence
my mother and father took me to a lady in pontypridd called auntie Nel i believe she was florences sister this lady was the spitting image of my nan (granny Ice, Florence) she was still alive in 1975/6 may be a few years more as i used to send christmas cards to her at 7 morganny street trehafod pontypridd I dont know her husband or his name i still correspond at christmas with her grandson. I have traced the family so far nell had a son Ramond L. in 1920, he married Morfydd Williams in 1943 they had a son and daughter Graham in 1944 and Cheryl Graham married Pamela cullen in 1966 they had a son Dean Lee in 1969 he married Karen Corbett in swansea in 1994 i have asked pam this christmas but they are busy people she said they would try to put something together when they could if they had time.Raymonds mothers maiden name was palmer.

The Bicester Registration District covers a large area including part of Buckinghamshire

I have transcripts of the Bicester marriages which go to 1916 and it is not there

the welsh family were called Martin one of Raymonds records came up with Palmer Martens.

Looking for Margaret Palmer birthplace unknown is a bit of a needle in a haystack. If you feel inclined to send off for their marriage certificate it would hopefully say who her father was.

There is this birth

That would make her a lot younger than Florence if she is her sister.

I dont think Ellen nel or Nellie was welsh i think her husband may have been welsh the problem is on connecting florence and nel together i think i may have found her death in 1980 in pontypridd which would have been about right it certainly is after 1975 as i got married then and for a few years after i sent her christmas cards but her husband had died before this

I would place my bets on that birth that Rose found. On the 1881 census Florence Palmer's birthplace is Headington. In the same family is a Richard Palmer who could well be the one that was father of Margaret E in the Wales census I posted.

There is also a Hannah Palmer in the 1881 census. Earlier Jan posted a marriage in 1885 of a Hannah Palmer to a John Thomas Loader in Reading.. I can't find that couple or Florence in the 1891 census.

I might have found Florence in 1901.

She is a housemaid in a training college in London. I think it says St.Gabriels on the image.

I was tearing my hair out as I found Hannah, Florence & Beatrice
on FMP by searching on born Oxford, living Reading but I don't have a sub for FMP and couldn't find them on Ancestry. They must be very badly mistranscribed on Ancestry.........

I'm sure you'll check all the connections yourself but the birth that Rose posted seems to be the most likely for your Florence. If she was born to Hannah Palmer you might never know who the father actually was.

If the connections are right then it would appear that Florence and "Nell" were cousins as Hannah and Richard Palmer were brother and sister.
