Hi Everyone

This message is being up dated today Tuesday 7th July 2015. (There is three pages to this thread).

I took a look on Facebook for the family name and I e-mailed someone on there but had no reply but I think its because you have to be friends with them, and then I took another look on Facebook researching so many times on it to see if I could locate any connections to me and I paid for the e-mail on Facebook this time to send to the other member a message.

I was so nervous contacting the people in case I had the wrong family.

After I emailed I had a lovely text message on my phone to say they are the correct family, this was beginning of year 2014,

I was so excited and both these members I contacted on Facebook were two of John's children, he was married and had 4xchildren in total.

The eldest of his children said on the messages to keep in contact, so now I have a few more cousins.

Sadly I was told that John had passed away in 2013 by his family, so I never go to meet him.

Thank you everyone once again who helped me with this. :-)

Hi Flip

Thank you very much that is most helpful.

Registers are also held at the British Library, London. They have a research facility if you can't go in person - you can e-mail or phone with your query.

Hi Flip

I think perhaps these records of ER might possibly maybe held at the council in Guildford as I have tried the Surrey History Centre and they and the library do not keep those records.

Thank you very much for your help.

You can get searches on the land registry (pay an agent) but it will only give you more if John owned the houses and they were in joint names with a partner.

You may be better spending a little on getting the local records office to do an ER search for you at the properties, a couple of years each side of when you can place him there - see if anyone else was registered.

Hi Padraig

Thank you very much I will do this and in the letter should I enclose my mobile No. not sure about this.

I will do the same for his previous Burpham address.

Hopefully this will get some new leads.

Hi,

The property 25 Lynwood was last sold on the 21 June 2010. The house looks no more than 30 or so years old ,so your John may have bought the property as a new build and it is the properties history which may be your next step.
A courteous letter to the current occupiers/owners detailing your query might reveal the previous owner and the vendors solicitor. who would have an overview of the properties previous ownership. Hopefully there will be no more than one or two previous owners which will give you a clearer timeline of events.

Hi

I have just got John Cullens's Father's death cert (William Cullen) to see who the informant might be and it is John Cullen (the son) that has signed it which I thought it would be to see if there was another address for him.

Tthe address on there comes up as 25 Lynwood, Guildford, Surrey in 1980, when his Father William died on the death cert. (This was where John was living).

This is really a coincidence as in that year I was just living round the corner from him and I did not know about him.

So I don't think I can go any further with one as I have no further information on him.

Yes, Flip he and I did not know about the Cullen family so I was researching a bit more.

None of my family know about the Cullen Family as I am the eldest of our siblings, and Gerald has learn't about Mildred and John from me.

Thank you very much everyone for helping me.
