We already have Robert & Jane as Petticrew in 1871 census so they can't be those Carr's. Going back to the other Carr's there are deaths for Robert & William Carr 1861 & 1862 in Durham on free BMD -haven;t checked out the birth possibilities for them yet though. |

Now we have 'shot down in flames' the baby Pettigrew death .. I suppose we should look at the Easington Carrs again? In April 1861, they had a two year old named Robert ... and a 10 month baby named William. ... Neither of these are with my family at the next census, so if this is the correct family unit, the children must both have died? ... Robert before March 1864, when another Robert was born? |

I said I had reasons for favouring the Warkworth couple Jane and Robert Carr, despite their claim to have been born in Northumberland! .. and the fact that they are using the name Carr at an unexpected date! |

I think I have found seven spellings of Pettigrew to date? It threw me in the beginning but now I largely ignore it. |
