Long Lost Family – Series 2 Episode 7

Published on 1 Jun 2012 15:38 : long lost family tv : 0 comments : 4913 views

Last night we saw the last episode in the series of Long Lost Family and what an emotional one it was. Firstly we heard the story of James, who found out the person he believed to be his real dad was actually only his mum's boyfriend. He always wondered why he had a different surname to his dad and that's when alarm bells started ringing. When his dad left home and split up from him mum, that's when unanswered questions needed answers.

James found out his parents divorced when he was just 2 years old and his father had promised his mum to stay out of their lives forever. Being a man that sticks by his word, with a heart breaking recollection from James's dad, we hear about the day he turned his back on his son and walked out of his life forever.

It was an emotional reunion. Catch up on the full episode here.

The second story came from a lady called Lisa, who at 10 years old discovered that her older sister was actually her mother, and that her dad had been banned from seeing her once the pregnancy was known.

After 30 years of wondering and searching for her real father, the Long Lost Family team finally track him down. Unfortunately, the bond between father and daughter had been lost and they both decided to take things slow and only contact each other by letter.

The episode showed that not every story can be perfect, but when you can finally fill in the missing blanks and get answers, this is often enough.
