I do everything in advance too Daff I am always early preparing things or going anywhere. I would rather wait a while than be late. One of my bug bears is late comers I get really annoyed when people are late or not organized. I drive OH Mad he says I am always the first one there. If I have people coming for dinner the table is set just after Lunch lol

Hi Ladies
You sound as if you are having a busy kind of day what with Daff and her rellies and Sandie and her son

I had a nice day today no great drama's. Went shopping with hubby and then caught up on all my correspondence. Via email I might add. I rarely write letters these days

Sandie regarding Aintree I got the info from the site below. It was the only thing that would fit and I have a feeling the date may be wrong than was put as part of the question

Don't fancy going there just now. I was going to go there years ago but waited till I saved enough to go to Egypt instead. Glad I did.

I like to do everything well in advance but OH leaves everything till the last minute because he says that way you don't give them time to go bankrupt and leave you in the lurch.

It's too easy to go bankrupt here and it's very common. Teenagers buy luxury cars on credit with no insurance then wreck them and declare bankruptcy.
Housewives buy rubbish on credit then go bankrupt.

OH doesn't believe anyone will ever collect their superannuation, all the super companies will declare bankruptcy and skip off to the Bahamas.

Just had an e.mail from my cousin Roger in Dubai. So excited !! Sharing memories, he is quite a bit older than me tho.
He isn't really a cousin, but my parents best friend's son.. Same thing they were always my 'aunt and uncle'.
Roger's wife and I communicate quite often, but I don't often hear from Rog.
He's 66 and about to retire to their second home in Sri Lanka, hopefully the conflict is now over.

Hi Daff
I don't know, son or Matthew may have to pay a cancellation fee, whoever does they won't then loose the whole holiday........as long as they get it sorted asap !
It really naffs me off when they leave everything to the last minute!
I usually am late booking holidays, never ever done it a yr in advance like some peeps do, but I do make sure everything is in order before signing the dotted line.lol.

Will the travel agent let you transfer the trip?
Here they make you cancel the original trip and pay a cancellation fee then book again in the new persons name.

Hi Daff
Well I hope so, he only made the apt after I made him phone !
There's the small matter of changing the details on the travel documents as holiday is in Matthew's girlfriend's name. !

Hi Sandie,
Glad you are feeling better today, with all the redecorating perhaps you got a speck of something in your eye.

Sounds like the young traveler has it sorted out now.

Hi ladies~~ ~~
How are you both ? Thought I had a cold coming yesterday, was sneezing and my right eye was running, but OK today think I must have had a fine hair or something irritating my eye.
Son has an apt for Friday for his passport and will pay an extra £30 to have it done the same day.Luckily Newport Passport off ice is only 20 miles away. Funnily enough hubby has recently applied for a renewed passport and as I was typing this, a courier came to deliver it, apparently for security purposes it has to be signed for.
I've spent most of the morning clearing 6 pages of hot ( cold in this case ) matches!
As for Jan's question, she original replied with July rather than Feb and then said ...yes it was Feb, but I can't seem to tie up the dates, according to my research the first race at Aintree was 27.7.1829, I think Sue said it was the 7thof July same yr.
Don't know about Lord Molyneux.lol , haven't seen him mentioned, I'm obviously looking at different sites.
Yours sounds OK Jackie perhaps Jan got the date wrong:)
Has been known to happen .lol

Daphne Report 19 May 2009 10:52

Hi Jackie,
I am fine thanks, how are you?

Jan got the right answer to my question from last night.

I have just waded through 3 pages of Hot Matches every one matched people in my tree and they were all correct matches, why am I complaining you may well ask.

They were all members of the same branch that I am not particularly interested in but every Tom Dick and Harry wants to claim a member of because of an old story of missing millions and a supposed connection to Henry 8th and Framlingham Castle.I might add nobody has yet proved any connection.

In the words of the oldest family researcher,Makes a nice tale for children I suppose but the way that branch bred even if the story were true genuine descendants would be lucky to get a dollar each anyway.

on 7th February 1829 Lord Molyneux Laid the First / Foundation Stone at Aintree Race Course...?

But according to my research Lord Molyneux laid the first stone on July 7th so not sure on this one. Got me flummoxed as I can't find anything relating to the 7th February nothing had happend at Aintree before then

So will have to wait for the answer lol

How is everyone today? hope you are all fighting fit
