I used Terry towelling nappies for my dau (23 in March) but when I went back to work in the Sept started using both terrys and disposables, easier for m.i.l, who was our child minder. Never had frozen nappies on the line. That's when I had my first tumble drier !

I used Terry Towelling ones for both of mine. 1964 my first born in Wales.
lIke I say didn't have disposable ones then.
Second son born 1972 in Oz the same but didnt have any problems with drying here
I never used disposables although they were around with 2nd son.

Had my washing out for 40 minutes yesterday and hubby fetched it in dry and I put most of it straight away. Things that didn't need ironing that is.

Sorry , been doing lunch for my son. He's, in Uni in Pontyridd , now called the Uni of Glamorgan.!!
It was minus 7 went he left earlier, it's only 20 miles away and as he only has lectures 3 days a week ,chose to travel. He left about 9.15 and was home by 12.30 and wanted something warm for lunch.

Right......
4 Horses of the Apocalypse ...?

Edit ...I love it when you can just take the clothes staight off the line and fold them away. Mmm they smell so nice too.

WhackyJackieInOz Report 6 Jan 2009 13:57

Don't they always want something warm for lunch Sandie

Since Hubby retired I seem to be in the kitchen all the time.
Gone are the days when I was on my own and only had to worry about me at lunchtime.
Would love a few days of just me. Although he is a big help I don't get a lot of time on my own anymore I miss that.
