So glad that the little girl survived and hope she recovers quickly. I feel so sorry for the driver's in this sort of situation as there's often very little they could have done to avoid the accident and I know that it will probably affect him as much as it does the little girl & family.

I was hit by a car when i was seven. It was totally my own fault in so much as I couldn't estimate the speed of a car and ran across the road combined with looking the wrong way. The rumour mill worked overtime, by later that day half the town had heard about the little girl that had been killed on the road, some (including the driver's wife) heard that the driver had been killed too. In some instances, the car even became a motorbike. All that despite the fact that I was up and moving. I was very lucky that I was such a skinny child & the car wasn't going very fast, or it would have been really bad.

The driver who hit me had gone to the hospital to visit and was told I wasn't there, he panicked thinking he really had killed me. What had actually happened was that I'd kicked up so much of a fuss that they had to let me go home as my crying was making the injury above my eye bleed more. I still remember going back at midnight for them to check on my concussion status lol.

A few years later I went to tap dancing class and became friends with his daughter.

Hope your son is doing ok too after his shock. 15 minutes for the ambulance to arrive is disgusting!

How wonderful, I didn't add to this before as I witnessed a fatal pedestrian accident and know how it affected me.

So glad it has a good outcome (and for the driver too).
