Hi Everybody
I'm Pauline, married to John for nearly 32 years. We live on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. We have 2 grown up daughters, one still living at home with us, and the elder one married with the two most beautiful daughters in the world aged 5 and 2. We love them all to bits :-) Pets - we have a tank full of tropical fish, and what must be two of the noisiest cockatiels in the world named Charlie and Jacko.
It was the birth of our first grandaughter that really started me off on this family tree research. In the last five years, I have made on line friends all over the world, some related as well, met a second cousin, and several third and 4th cousins. I have found out so much about my husband's ancestors that he didn't know. One shock was that his grandmother had been married twice! Another was his maternal grandfather had 2 younger brothers that he never knew about. Sadly they are deceased some time ago, so it was never on the cards to meet them.
I have also been a transcriber for Free BMD, and am the OPC for the parishes of Lanlivery and Lanivet in Cornwall.
As many here know, I have some ongoing health problems, and have had wonderful support from the people here -means a lot I can tell you.
Thanks for putting the thread Colin - good to meet you :-)
PP xx

Hello Colin:-)
I am known as BC (I think Neeta called me that first and it has stuck). I think I have been on GR about 3 years and seen a lot of changes. I am 71 years young, have one adored son who lives abroad with his lovely girlfriend and my beloved grandson and granddaughter. I am Irish and have lived in London for many years. I have a small dog and I insist she takes me for a long walk in the park every morning, whether she likes it or not. I love reading, travelling, socialising, laughing till I cry, my friends, an occasional (!) drink and good food. I view the people I "meet" on GR with great affection, the humour and compassion shown on here, is quite unique. BC XX

I go by the name of Kate - my real name is Kathryn but I go by Kate because there's more chance people will be able to spell it correctly.
I'm 23 (think I may have had a birthday or two since the last thread), graduated last year, and am still living with mum and dad, working freelance as a photographer/maker of handmade greetings cards and lavender bags.
Also, quite diminutive - I've stayed at 5ft tall since I was 11, only just weigh enough to give blood (they always ask). Apart from the family history, I have transcribed the headstones of two local churchyards, am a very nervy driver and am quite partial to UK Gold and 80s pop music.

Hello Colin and all
Well, as you can see, my name is Lynn, im a 46 year old mother of 3 beautiful daughters, and now, the very proud Nanna to our little angel Kayleigh :o))))
The little applies to my height, or lack of it lol, at 5ft 1 1/2 ( the half inch is very important ) im rather tall !!!!!! ha ha ha
I live in the midlands, just outside of coventry, born and bred here, and love it, My hobbies include family history of course, poetry, which i try to write, i love walking, which i do with our barney, a 2 year old rescue border collie/lurcher , reading and i love music of any kind, our house is always filled with madness, laughter and music
I have been a member on here for almost 2 years, and have been very fortunate to make some wonderful friends, what i call lifelong friends,
I also put up the thought for the day threads, any newbies a little nervous of joining in can always add to this and you will be given a very warm welcome, no need to be shy, just say goodmorning
cant think of anything else to say at the moment so will leave it at this for now
Thanks Colin

Hi, I am Jenny just 53 years, and have been living on the north east coast for just over 10 years. But born and bred in Staffordshire near to Cannock Chase. All my family are still there including my two Daughters and 4 Grandsons. I do have a wonderful beautiful Daughter 18yrs still living at home. A Son, his Girlfriend and Grandaughter not far away, but he does my head in at times Lol and causes me a lot of heartache.
I have been a member for over 4 years and well known on GR for my Gaynor Bear Relay. But do not post often now as I am now a boring old F***t with nothing to talk about but my problems.
I am winning a slow battle to beat the booze and probably depression and really want to stop smoking. I dont get out much, really in danger of becoming a recluse, but Geordie Hubby of 7 years does go out far too often to my liking. So I need GR to keep me sane.
Lovely to meet all you new members. Keep posting.
Thanks Colin for this thread.

Thank you all for adding and also for the lovely comments that have been left for me :):)

It is lovely to see the support and additions to this new thread :)
I had a mail from Genes last evening although for some reason the mail I had sent to them had some sort of small problem in it, I had been asked to resend the original which I have done and now awaiting a further reply to this.
Hopefully Genes may monitor this thread for a while now and see how lovely it is.
It is nice to say Hi to you the newer posters, always feel free to say Hi whenever you see me about the boards. and also to friends I have known a while:)
Karen, you are just accross the water from me :)
Thanks Everyone :)
