Hi Colin

My name is Jane. I live in Gosport. I am 43, married and have two children. One at home and one at Uni. I work as an administration officer in a community centre.

You might remember me we have spoken before re green tights. I have managed to get some and have a spare pair for you. The dance is this weekend and there is room for you to join in. You never told me whether you could dance or not!!!!

Margaret Report 14 Jan 2008 15:54

Hi Colin - as it was me who first brought to general notice that the lovely thread which I had bookmarked had disappeared, I think it only fair that I put my info on again. As can be seen by my board name I am Margaret from Midlands - Warwickshire to be exact. I am another oldie I'm afraid approaching my 68th birthday. I have one son who lives in Northamptonshire and two grandchildren, girl 14, boy 11. I used to breed and show dogs (yorkshire terriers) but don't do it now - far too expensive. I have one yorkie as a pet, she is called Tuppence. I am an avid reader particularly crime novels, love my genealogy and still go tap dancing lessons once a week. I do not travel much these days but have in the past been to America and Jamaica. I would love to see Australia (have relatives there) but could not face the long flight. That's it for now.

Welcome to all the newbies. It is lovely to have a chat on here and hear all the differing points of view.

Hi everyone. Like yourselves, I too liked that thread very much. The only problem I could see, albeit a slight one, is some peeps telling a lot of personal details about themselves. That isn't a criticism, but that innocent act could be abused.
Or, as you say, it might have been deleted by accident; easily done.

Hi Colin, have only been on GR since November bot did some research about 20 years ago so had quite a bit of info. I'm new on board but am having a break and a chat so as to get to know others-don't get much adult coversation other than OH as we live in an isolated place albeit beautiful. My name is May, another golden olde or silver surfer I believe we're called these days, I'm 74, married 53 years last Christmas Eve, have two biological children, one male, one female, two biologocal grand children -one adult with my one and only greatgrandchild aged 6, and the other grandchild is a boy aged 8. I also have three non-biological grand children all girls, aged 9,and two aged 11. This is my first computer(lap top) and I'm really enjoying it!!!

MaggyfromWestYorkshire

MaggyfromWestYorkshire Report 14 Jan 2008 18:01

Hello again Colin and everyone else.

My name is Maggy (Margaret to my mum and dad, but no-one else) Been married 27 years to John, with 2 kids aged 23 and 25 (tomorrow). I live in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, where I have lived all my life.

I work in a sheltered housing scheme with mainly elderly people, but did 12 years on school meals while my kids were growing up (the elderly behave no better than the kids!!)

Really sad to see the old thread go, I did nudge it occasionally because I thought it was such a good thread. Have you had an explanation yet Colin?
