Hi Everyone

Re: The removal of the Please Introduce yourselves thread

As you can imagine I am in a deep thinking mood at the moment.

I never deleted this myself, so it would have had to have been either a complaint or Genes themselves removed this for whatever reason.

I will be contacting them to ask why.

I will say though, if this was removed out of spite, malice or sheer jelousy then the person/persons complaining had best use the bite your tounge thread now as you only serve to make me a stronger person. I will still introduce myself and hopefully others will introduce themselves to me to. Spite malice and jelousy bear no weight with me whatsoever, I laugh at you today .

If the thread was removed for genuine reasons then I respect that, may be someone asked for it to be removed for security reasons, I would have no reason to hold that against you at all.

If genes removed it accidently, as sometimes can happen, I know I have been in that position myself then whats done is done and I accept that to.

Hopefully Genes will do the curtesy of responding to a mail to them today. I can only hope so.

Meanwhile I am on my way out but will be back a little later.

I suspect it was for security, I refuse to believe it was from a complaint...it was so lovely.

I am hoping that it was done accidentally by GR. As I posted on another thread, I understand that GR are notifying people now if a post / thread is removed.

By the way, just a point about sending a pm to someone - a non-paying member would not be able to do this.

Off topic - Sally, there is a thread addressed to you by Lou; remember you asked her a question at the end of her thread the other day?

Hi Everyone & Thank You :):)

I am hoping that it was by accident also, it is easily done when in a website control panel and clicking a thread to delete, more so if it is right next to a confrontational one. I have done that myself in the past, Embarrasing at the time but I admitted to the error.

Hi Tina!
Don't be afraid to join in any time! We all had to at one time (nearly two years ago in my case) just jump in when ever you feel like it.

Hello to you all
I have not posted on here very much, but I read Colin's thread many times over the holiday period, dipping in and out. I enjoyed all of it. It was funny, witty, poignant and inoffensive, and above all it was voluntary and not compulsory.People were free to tell us as much about themselves as they wanted, and, not that for one moment am I saying it was not true, how do we know it was. For instance ,I, or anyone else, could have said, I emulated my grandmother and had ten children over twenty years. Who reading it knows if this is true.So it is up to the writer to put what they wanted to tell us. It was totally light-hearted banter, and entertaining, and I don't see how it should have been removed. Good on you Colin for the feel-good factor it generated. Tina - I'm glad I'm not the only Derbyshire person on Genes, I am about six miles from you. Now some kind sole get out a map and compass and draw a circle.............

Hi Colin,
Loved your Introduce Yourself thread.
I sincerely hope it was deleted in error and not for any other reason. It would be great to see it reappear!!

If it doesn't reappear then I'll introduce myself again for anyone who doesn't already 'know' me......
....my name says it all really - I'm Karen and I live in the desert, with my hubby. I get home to the UK a couple of times per year...home being on the Monmouthshire/Gloucestershire border, I can just see the old Severn Bridge from my window.

I like coming on GR for some light-hearted banter, and a laugh, whenever I can, although sometimes I have to remind myself to get on with my tree, so I go over to Tips Board too.

Hello Tina, nice to 'meet' you, and don't be shy - we were all in the same boat once!
