Kim thats not a bad idea at all - I saw some there last summer- I looked this week and none about - they were between £90.00 and £120.00 last summer but we put the wedding off - I have been doing this for years cos I dont fancy organising it all.

But we have now set a month - outlaws are not getting any younger and we have decided we are going to do it this year without putting it off.

Thats only cost my youngest is only a month old and too young to complain :)

Theresa I've thought about it but cant sew for toffee - I saw a really nice one that was going for a song - under £50.00 in Debs cos the outside lace was torn. I lifted it up and thought ok I could unpick this to here - sew a ribbon here and was making all kinds of mental plans and then realised it would sit with the perfect material I bought for curtains 6 years ago ..........

Maddie

This may sound a bit tacky but.........

I went into TK-Max yesterday and they had some there that thought oohhhhh, wish I was getting married again! don't know cost, but shouldn't be too expensive.

Very simple but stylish

Maddie,

Until we saw it (me and my best mate) we were going to make one. We only went on the shopping trip to gwet ideas. But at that price it was soooooo much less stress.
Managed to get bridesmaids dresses for £18/20 each at BHS!!

I have just ordered mine from a local boutique.
I haven't had much time to look around for a dress and because the wedding is in less than 3 months I didn't have time to order one, So have had to buy 'Off the rack'.
I tried a few on and eventually had to decide between 2. 1 i loved but was £750. The other was really nice (But not in the same way) and was £285 in the sales.
After much thought I bought the dearer one, I thought that as im only intending to it once, I should have the dress I want!

Have you looked in M & S?

Theresa your a gal after my own heart - been looking at a jasper conran in the sales at debs thats gone down to the £200.00 mark in the 70% off sale - Its nice, the price is right - but something deepdown is saying its not me - its a little too girly.

Dizzi,

I got my dress in a local boutique.

Was in June 2002. Cost me £200 in the end. Its a designer dress, obviously not the currnet year but when I tried it on it fitted like a glove, it was 'the one!'

I must add it was originally priced at £1200, then down to £800 and then £400. I got it for £200 a real bargain!

Loads of girls I know are trying ebay. But you need to be sure of your size because all the designers vary slightly. I was a size 12/14 but my dress was a tight 16. Might be an idea to cruise the shops and try first.

lol Where you a very lanky 12/14 Dizzi?

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 10 Jan 2008 21:22

Yes I have looked there and seen somethings that are quite nice - but my problem is not being able to touch it - if that makes sence.

I didnt realise the feel would be so important but as its the season of the sales I've had a good look everywhere - the best bargains were at BHS - but although a few looked pretty (those that wernt for prima donna;s) the feel of the material was horrible.

The nice feel was at Debenhams - but am not convinced they are worth the prices.
