Teresa, I have also added to the petition, I am not religious but I do feel that those laid to rest should stay just that. |

Merlin, councils in other areas have destroyed cemetaries and built flats or offices or car parks on them, some of these are predominantly Christian councils, in predominantly Christian areas, so again I stress that this has nothing to do with race or religion. |

OK once again I will stress, the issue here is not race or religion, and here's why. |

If they do and you can't, someone else will give it a go I am sure. We'll get the damn petition going one way or the other, or wait and see if they decide it would be feasible to use it and try to submit plans to parliament... |

Teresa, I thought City of London Cemetery was a "newer" cemetery than Tower Hamlets? I may be wrong, will check it....BC XX |

George, and Merlin...please keep the us and them out of it. This would be a multi-faith cemetary, not for one race or religion. I still have relatives living in the area who would also be buried in the new cemtary, with a Christian burial. |

I've signed it chucky. I hope it does some good, but councils have a habit of doing just what they want. |

Well done, Teresa, for putting this so clearly and for going to all the trouble of explaining it again. GR would be very foolish to delete this thread, I am sure, as it is part of what this site is all about. BC XX |
