My EX was going to start a new job, and became very ill with flu. there was no way that he could travel the next day. I put the bed settee up in the living room so that the gas fire could be kept on to keep him warm. I woke up to go to the loo and found that the fire had gone out. I was too tired to go looking for handbags and shillings... so I switched of off and went back to sleep. I woke up some time later, and the room was absolutely freezing, the fire had a tiny blue flame (remember I had put it off... and it was still off!) and in the corner of the room was a big yellow, warm light! It was not exactly a man, but I knew that it was his father whom I had never seen. When he woke up the next morning.... he was so well, I could not believe it. Sounds daft? Well it is true and it was an amazing experience. Years later, my husband and I were arguing in the living room... I got upset so told him where to go..... as you do! I went down to the dinning room, and sat on the settee in the dark facing my patio window. the kitchen light behind me was on , and in the reflection of the window I saw an old lady making a cup of tea..... I knew it was for me!! when I described her to my OH, he was quite shaken as I had described his dead mother .... whom I also had never see. Apart from those sightings, I have had many experiences where someone has come to me in MY need. I had a visit from someone while in hospital, she sat and rubbed my back...and I just knew that I would be okay! BUT I did not see her. And that sort of *unseen*...sighting, I have had many times. Now don't you laugh at me.... or we are FINISHED!!!;-0) Deanna X |

I inherited my grandfathers writing desk, a mahogany edwardian piece he was given on ordination as a priest. He wrote many a sermon on it, and it was always one of my favourite peices of furniture in my grandparents house. When it finally came to me, it was so full or woodworm we dare not have it in the house, so for a while it was relegated to the garden shed, covered in a thick old blanket. My then husband was always threatening to get rid of it because it was in the way, but I managed to convince him it was worth keeping. However one day he got a bit impatient and announced that no matter what I said he was going out there to chop it up and start a bonfire. I was in tears and went upstairs where I couldn't hear him wrecking my lovely desk. He came running in, white as a sheet and said, 'Theres something about that desk, I can't touch it, come and have a look, tell me I'm imagining it' He really looked scared. I went into the shed, while he stayed outside shaking. Straight away, I just knew that my Grandpa was there, it was so familiar, I could smell him, almost touch him, and I wasn't scared at all, unlike my husband. I reassured him that it was just Grandpa, no need to be scared. We had a cuppa and he went out to have another look at the desk, with no intention of harming it, and fell in love with it. He looked through it thoroughly and in the top, hidden behind the shelves, was a letter which had been written to my Grandpa from a missionary friend some 50 years before! Next week we got the desk fixed, restored and polished and it still has pride of place in my living room. |

Yes i do believe, When my dad died i used to walk into my house and i could smell his cigerette smoke . and i could always tell you when he was there i used to (him feel him if thats the right term ) Then just a week before my mum died some one called my name i was in the house by my self, then i felt as though i was wrapped in cotton wool ( that is the only way in which i can explain it )it was a lovely feeling . Then in my daughters house there was a little boy who had died there , i didn't like it at my daughters at all (to long to go into on here ) Then my husbands brother came to live with us and he died here it was about 1/2 months after he had passed away that i used to hear the door at the top of the stairs opening and closing again to much to go into on here but yes i believe . I don't believe in ghost because I have never seen one. Suppose that could change at any time. |

Ive seen 3 ghosts that I know of, I just think of them as spirits from the other side. My son has seen one, my husband has, and also my sons dad, who always said anyone who believed in ghosts needed locking up. My mother in law frequently hears a ghost cat in her house, as has my son. |

TRUE-At Newstead Abbey near Mansfield, there was a meeting of 'witches' every Thurs night. The vicar from the church I was dragged along to on a weekly basis used to go along and do an exorcism or cleansing when things got out of control! Now Im older, Im surprised they let things get out of control, most covens don't. And how did they manage to hire a room in the abbey? I wonder if someone connected to the abbey was into witchcraft. OR someone in the coven had enough money to keep the abbey owners happy... |

My great aunt kept a pub in the midlands, she committed suicide in the cellar, and it is said that she haunts the pub now. Apparently she wont let them move things from where she had them, and will move them back to where she wants them kept. Maddy |

I'm not terribly sure if I've seen one or not, but I know there was a presence in a house I lived in as a teenager. I felt it in my bedroom the strongest, though it was at the top of the stairs and in the bathroom. I once caught a glimpse of a grey mist out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned to get a better look it was gone. When I was 16, one winters night, I was in the kitchen waiting for my boyfriend to come by. The house was about a mile out of the village and the nearest neighbour was abotu 1/4 mile away, so we were very isolated. My boyfriend came into the kitchen all smiles and said he had seen my watching out of my bedroom window. Mum and I looked at each other and said neither of us had been up there. I was doing my homework at the kitchen table, and mum was reading and had been for the last hour. It took us ages to convince him, because he said the light was on and I was there at the window looking out. There was a cupboard under the stairs, with steps leading down to what I supposed had been a cellar. We knew the house had 12 ft foundations, so there had to be a cellar, but it was bricked up at the bottom of the steps. I could never go down there, I was far too frightened. I always imagined it was an edwardian stern looking woman dressed in black with her hair tied back tightly into a bun. It was only an impression, I never actually saw her. The feeling of the presence got so strong at one time that the local rector came and blessed the house, sprinkled Holy water and hung a crucifix at the top of the stairs to ward it off. The very next day I found mum unconscious at the bottom of the stairs, and she swore she was pushed down from the top, she felt the hands on her back! It wasn't a fear of the dark or stairs, it never happened before or since we lived there. Others who have lived there since have also experiences similar things. |

My Dad and his brothers saw a ghost .... but I think I am a bit too down to earth for anything to get through to me - you have to be sensitive for that to happen... I would love to see an apparition though, I am always asking my Mum and Dad to come through, but no luck so far......mind you if they did appear I think I would wet myself....lol |
