Dawn Where are your Cobbeldicks? I ask because one of my relatives was a servant for an E. Cobeldick of Polgreen, St Mawgan, Cornwall in the 1870s. Polgreen was a farm of about 180 acres. Helen |

i used to think our surname (SMALL)was really unusual - until I went to college in the 70s. There were 2 of us on the same course AND with the same first name (Janice)! I have never met anyone else but now I know they're all over the place! |

Helen, my Cobbledick's are from St Winnow, Cornwall in 1700's. Linda, I must admit I fell about laughing when I found this name but at least it dosnt begin with a G lol Also have Mufford, Isabel,Cullis,Coit...all in Cornwall and uncommon |

where did they find some surnames lol...dawn my sympathies with your cobbledicks..still could be worse you could have been one?!! ive got bytheway,pratt,monks,hassal, all not that unusual but uncommon now adays seems to be loads back in the 18/17c |

My maiden name was Caukill...much easier to research than some of the names in my tree such as Walton, Turner and Barker (especially when they all seem to be called Thomas, Henry or George!) Pat |
