Lisa - no, I haven't - might do now though!! ----------------------------------- Wishing my Mum and Dad were still here more than ever - when I hear Susan Maughan singing "Bobby's Girl" because that's my Mum's song - and hearing in my mind's ear my Dad singing "darling je vous aime beaucoup, je ne sais pas what to do, vouz avez completely stolen my heart" and "je t'endrai". Oh, and bringing back lovely memories of Italian holidays - "Credi a me" by Bobby Solo and "Il Mondo" by Jimmy Fontana, and "La Mer". And of a liaison that should never have been! - Laura Brannigan (RIP) singing "Self control". Joy |

thank you karen o page 2 i wondered who sung eloise, we named our daughter after that , her middle name, my mum loved that song in 80s when we were expecting our daughter and said wot a nice name it would be, we spell it elouise though. my sad songs and uplifting if you have it loud enough in the car ( has to be car as neighbours will complain), is no doubt, dont speak. it says things that i can relate to when we lost mum. also pretenders always makes me sad, with 'ill stand by you' our daughter was 8 when she told me (hearing it on the radio one day) nana said this songs for me from her, i believe it was released the year mum died. |

What about "Dance with my father" by Luther Van Dross. My dad died when I was 19 so thats my sad song. The Humming Chorus from Madam Butterfly is very moving and almost anything from the 60s makes me happy! |

My favourite is Have I told you lately I love you (title is something like that), but by Rod Stewart, not Van Morrison, it is the back ground music to our son's christening, I still boo when I watch it, even though it was a lovely day. |

when my son, kris was born he was very ill and not expected to live however being the fighter that he is he did live but he had been in intensive care since shortly after he was born so i hadnt been able to hold him but only touch him in his incubator (he had meningitis) when they finally said i could hold him it was such an emotional moment and the music that was playing on the radio was Crazy For You by Madonna im not an especially big fan of her but love this song so much because of the memories that it brings back, even though it makes me cry.............. lou xx |

Lots of great replies here, lots of great music too, I'm glad I raised this one. A few more from me. Stuck in a moment, u2 Let it Be - heard it on the radio just after a friend died, always makes me cry. Life of Riley, reminds me of happier times. |

For the two ladies, Karen and Julie, two versions of Eloise have made the british charts. 23 oct 1968 Barry Ryan got to No 2 8 feb 1986 The Damned got to No 3 I trust they were the same song, I only remember the first one, I was probably in love with his mum, Marion Ryan. Derek in France |

Hi Paul, I love stuck in a moment by U2, makes me go all tingly as does Precious Heart by INXS. Careless Whisper by George Michael is another of my favourites and not forgetting anything by Led Zep. |
