Good Day to you all, Them bones them bones them dry bones laughter. John we had better keep to the Brummies or we may not get any young people to stay with us on the site LOL Liked the story lines again. See you smoke as well, never mind I still do and Faith does. I have tried to pack them up but its hard. Marge that takes me back all the walking, I covered miles and most of it done in high heeled shoes lovely. Dancing at the Tower Ballroom, The Mecca, Tony's in Hurst Street. The odd time at the Rose & Crown. Could not keep me away from dancing. My next love was swimming I used to swim for the Victoria Rd swimming baths. Won a good few times for the club. Big Day tomorrow Our Jim should be back. We had better stay off the site for a while so he can write down all the things he has done or not done. LOL. Had a great natter to our Brenda in Oz this morning I laughed so much the tears ran down my face. This saves me having a wash laughter. Is Percy in his garden again ? just hope my young one is making him lots of cuppa's to keep him going. I am off now but will be back. Tat Tar June xxx

Glad everyone is back and posting lots of laughs, John, you are right, never thought about this before I also walked miles on our Monkey Run , walked to and from school around about a mile each way, walked to Dances and danced for hours then walked home again after, usually the Crown and Cushion Perry Barr , kept in shape when I had my kids little, then went to work as store security so walked miles again around the store, BUT then I finished and it seems all down hill since then. maybe I just never had time to sit around to feel the aches. So all you young ones forget the warning, to h--l with worrying about old age, just enjoy life. Bye for now from creeky bones. Marg

Hi - It's that man again! June, how about re-naming this thread The Worn Out Pins Brigade lol ;-)))))))))} Who was it said "I'm only 66 and it's too late"? It's the things I did when in my younger years that has worn out my knees and hips - Running the Mile (6 minutes best). Ballroom dancing at the Locano and the Tower, jogging home (5miles) every night cos I couldn't bare to leave my missus, and always missed the last bus. Running up and down stairs, playing football, tennis, badminton, you name it I've probably done it! Just look at all the modern health trends, Jogging (bad hips later on), no animal fats (nothing to lubricate the joints), very little salt (cramps after sweating). Sorry I got so serious (but I would like to come back in a hundred years, just to see if healthy living has helped anyone) and I'm not packing up smoking for anyone 8-)))} You wouldn't hit a man in glasses - would you? lol NEWS FLASH.............. Irish police are being handicapped in their search for a stolen van because they cannot issue a description. It is a Special Branch vehicle and they do not want the public to know what it looks like. (The Guardian) After being charged £20 for a £10 overdraft, 30 year old Mr Blank of Leeds changed his name by Deed Poll to "Yorkshire Bank PLC Are Fascist B------s" The bank has now asked him to close his account and, Mr B------s has asked them to repay the 69p balance by cheque made out in his new name. (The Guardian) Welcome to all the newbies. Tarrabit - John xxxxxxx

Hi June (mother-in-law lol) Well I have to be honest - Jan remembered IMMEDIATELY so I had to go look it up. Funny now to think about that thread - how things have moved on in some ways and stayed the same in others. It still makes good reading though - we had a real laugh on there and errrrrrrrrrm that's when we first realised there was something between us :-))))) Rick.xx p.s. no frogs :-(

Hi Percy, You must get a compost bin its the in thing LOL. Better than putting it all in a heap in the corner of your garden. Faith dear I am so pleased to hear you have some nice wellies for the wedding. But we must all keep away from the BRIGHT BLUE colour as that's for Rick. Not sure what colour he is having for his tall hat. it may be stripes. I think it could be blue and orange. laughter. Can any of you Sing or play a musical Instrument as they need some thing for the reception. I can play the COMB & Tissue Paper. so I will have this post. laughter. Catch you all later. Love June.

Hello everyone ! Spent an hour in the garden pruning another huge climbing rose and tidying up leaves this afternoon. Despite lots of abuse from Jan about me not knowing what I was doing I think I made a good job of it lol. Don't worry June, we don't have a composter so no danger of black spot spreading any more than it already does. Can't believe the amount of greenfly on the shoots though, hopefully the frost will kill them off. Rick.xx

June Report 14 Jan 2005 15:58

Hi my little one, So Percy is in the garden again, I just hope he does not put any old rose leaves that have black spot in to the compost bin. These have to be burnt. Any sign of that new outfit yet ??????Now your mom has been looking at hats again. Big ones and small ones. Cant make up my mind. LOL. I think Faith will buy some new wellies for the wedding, but Jan you will have to tell her what colour as I am sure she does not want to clash with the bride. Or the groom in his bright BLUE suit laughter. Its a bit slow on here to day people must be shopping for the week end. All for now tat tar Mom June.

Hi Everyone, Glad to hear Jim is coming out of hibernation for us. and great to hear from Dee and even greater to hear you are still not smoking, what a great start to the New Year. My trip to the specialist started not so good, got there only to find my appointment was for Monday not Tuesday, from now on I will write it on three calenders and check twice on each. , I just had it in my mind since it was booked in November that it was the 11th,anyway luckily the docs receptionist was really nice(think it helped we were both English and she was the Docs wife) and sent me over to see him at the Hospital he did more Xrays and says I have Arthritis and the two bones in my knee are rubbing together, wants me to try walking with a cane and taking new pills, so see how that goes, last resort is a knee replacement. Well it is really cold here and had lots more snow yesterday, this morning it was minus 26, but sun came out and even though it was so cold it did not seem so bad. Well bye for now Marg.

Hi Everyone. Just an update on the fires in SA. The one close to us has been contained but the one on the Eyre Peninsula has been devistating People have lost their lives and many homesteads have been destroyed. There was a line of fire that went from one side of the Peninsula to the other and anything in its way was destroyed. Those poor people !!. We used to live in Kimba at the top of the peninsula..proprietors of BP Roadhouse. Weather has been very hot but has cooled down a little. I hear that the weather has been bad in the UK. Back again Later, Brenda
