debs lol just went into kitchen to get some wine but thought better of it as i think im gonna take myself out for dinner tonite and will need to drive

Suddenly feeling guilty. Ann will see how many replies and think how helpful we are all being. Mean lot aren't we:)) Seriously Ann - I have a cooker with self clean sides and I just use a hot soapy cloth on the lot. I do it at least once a year too :))

Nurse do you think we should have a cheese and wine evening but not Ann wineing about ovens LOL Debs.

chrissie you are right we have rather taken over the thread lol i stick all i can in the dishwasher and use those plastic bag things, they really work

good idea debs i like cheese too, especially if it is served with wine lol Grampa the same thing happens to the dirty washing, one minute it is on the floor the next it is washed and ironed and in the wardrobe and you men don't believe in fairies????????

Chrissie - you were right - first prize for guessing my thoughts - 22 replies in 18 minutes and not a helpful one amongs the lot of you!!!!!!! I am not crazy about cleaning ovens either however, it has taken some bashing past 10 days apart from baking, then an 11lb ham, a goose, plus 2 roasts this week and to use an Northern Irish expression 'is boggin'. If Kim and Aggie put their heads in the two ovens they would say I am a dirty cat! As anyone ever found the perfect oven? My son has one which only requires the bottom to be cleaned.

At least the thread has made me laugh and as I am still recovering slowly from a virus caught nearly 3 weeks ago I need a laugh - GIRLS - I was ONLY thinking about it not cleaning it immediately! If you were all here - there is plenty of wine left in the rack, cheese board in fridge, lots of dips and nibbles - lets party!! Ann

plastic bags advertised on tele, you put the oven shelves in them leave them for a few hours and they come out like new. ask hubby i brought some for him, he swears by them

Nurse it is not the shelves - they are not too bad and clean easily - it is the back of the oven and roof which are the worst to get at - usually end up lying across the oven door in a very weird position and am getting too old for that sort of excitment in the kitchen nowadays! Ann

lol ann know what you mean last time i got on my hands and knees in the kitchen to clean the oven, hubby was home and well lets just say the oven didn't get cleaned
