Hi Ann On the rare occasions that I clean the non-self-cleaning bits of my oven, I use the stuff that Wendy suggested right back at the beginning of this thread - Dr Beckmann's whatsit. Can also add a laugh though. Due to my health etc, I have a cleaning lady in 2 hours a week and she came to 'view'. She was opening doors, cupboards etc and then looked in my oven. Oh, she says, it's lovely and clean ... and I'm thinking yeah, that's cos I don't use it LOL Mandy (alias Queen of the Ready Meal) xx

Easiest thing in the whole wide world - Fairy Power Spray!! Brought my oven up like new, just spray it on wait 10 mins or so and wipe - Bingo!! Clean oven and no hard grafting. Have fun.

Nurse it is not the shelves - they are not too bad and clean easily - it is the back of the oven and roof which are the worst to get at - usually end up lying across the oven door in a very weird position and am getting too old for that sort of excitment in the kitchen nowadays! Ann

Chrissie - you are on your own love - two ovens to clean is one too many never mind three! However did see an 'ad' in the freebie last week - some company who actually come and clean the ovens - wonder what it costs? Ann

At least the thread has made me laugh and as I am still recovering slowly from a virus caught nearly 3 weeks ago I need a laugh - GIRLS - I was ONLY thinking about it not cleaning it immediately! If you were all here - there is plenty of wine left in the rack, cheese board in fridge, lots of dips and nibbles - lets party!! Ann

Chrissie - you were right - first prize for guessing my thoughts - 22 replies in 18 minutes and not a helpful one amongs the lot of you!!!!!!! I am not crazy about cleaning ovens either however, it has taken some bashing past 10 days apart from baking, then an 11lb ham, a goose, plus 2 roasts this week and to use an Northern Irish expression 'is boggin'. If Kim and Aggie put their heads in the two ovens they would say I am a dirty cat! As anyone ever found the perfect oven? My son has one which only requires the bottom to be cleaned.
